Cox College Interprofessional Simulation and Education Center presents a concept-based curriculum. Learn all the aspects of the delivery method, such as identifying concepts and exemplars to match you curricular needs, active learning strategies in the classroom/clinical setting.

Who should attend
Clinical instructors, faculty, graduate students, and administrators in Practical Nurses, Vocational Nurses, ADN, Diploma, and BSN programs. Because of the active learning focus, other health care educators will benefit as well.

9:45 –   10:30 Your ideas, my ideas, we all have ideas: Getting the buy-in for a concept-based curriculum.

10:45 – 12:15 Assessment & Evaluation: Test item writing for critical thinking

L. Jane Rosati, EdD, MSN, RN-BC

 

Jane Rosati is a well-known speaker, workshop presenter and contributing author on the topic of concept-based learning and active learning techniques in the classroom. A professor at Daytona State College, School of Nursing, Jane has experience in both the teaching and administrative areas of nursing education. She was a 2011 recipient of the   National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Medallion of Excellence Award for Teaching and Learning. Her focus is on helping students become self-directed learners and faculty become comfortable with conceptual-based learning in the classroom. Jane has been in nursing for 36 years and has worked in multiple patient-care settings and management areas.
