Program Description and Target Audience: This conference is designed for RNs caring for adult patients with cardiac disease. The activity will focus on recognition and care for patients with acute myocardial infarction and heart failure.

At the end of this activity, the participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate chest pain assessment and treatment modalities for STEMI and nonSTEMI according to
American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.
2. Identify the various stress tests and appropriate patient prep for each.
3. Describe the actions and side effects of cardiac medications.
4. Compare various cath lab procedures, describing patient selection, pre and post procedure care, and
anticipated outcome.
5. Discuss surgical interventions for coronary artery occlusions.
6. Describe manifestations of congestive heart failure.
