Prerequisites: MUST BE TAKEN DURING THE FINAL SEMESTER.
This course further focuses on the synthesis of knowledge from past and current learning experiences and promotes professional practice by emphasizing principles of lifelong learning and caring practices. Focuses on the socialization of the nurse into the profession, emphasizing nursing’s body of knowledge, the legal and ethical responsibilities of nurses, and issues they face. It also focuses on communication and clinical application of the principles of the roles of professional practice including educator, consumer of research, leader/manager and provider of care within the community. Collaboration with other health care providers to improve evidence-based outcomes of individuals, families and communities in a diverse society is emphasized. Student will collaborate with faculty mentor to create a portfolio that will document successful completion of individual goals and program outcomes.
