Description and Target Audience: This advanced workshop is designed to provide experienced Nurses, Paramedics, and other healthcare professionals with criteria to use the electrocardiogram as a primary diagnostic tool.
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Identify and define the electrical events recorded by the EKG.
- Identify normal vs. abnormal electrical axis of the QRS.
- Identify bundle branch blocks vs. fascicular blocks.
- Identify patterns of cardiac ischemia and infarction.
- Identify cardiac chamber enlargement and hypertrophy.
- Identify medication effects and electrolyte imbalances.
- Identify Myocardial Infarction mimickers
