This year’s conference features presenters and a list of topics relevant to perinatal nurses, nurse practitioners, ancillary staff, and physicians. The agenda has been designed to help support your current practice with information you need to improve your skill, deepen your understanding, and improve your patient’s outcomes. Our Key-note speaker will be Karen D’Apolito PhD, APRN, NNP-BC, FAAN from Vanderbilt University. The Perinatal conference will cover topics on Caring for the infant born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Understanding Addictions in Pregnancy, Mama’s with Trauma, Medical Ethics, and Postpartum depression “when screenings should occur & how they work”

  • Describe pharmacologic & non-pharmacologic management of infants with NAS
  • Describe how to determine your inter-observer reliability with the Finnegan scoring tool

Cox College Interprofessional Simulation & Education Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

7.0 Contact Hours

This program has been deemed appropriate for chaplains to list 7.0 contact hours of continuing education credit. Credit should be listed on the Association of Professional Chaplains Annual Summary of Continuing Education Hours Form in the area of “Workshops/Conferences/Seminars/Symposia.”

This program has been approved by CoxHealth Trauma Service for 1.0 trauma contact hours for CoxHealth employees.

Accreditation approval only refers to this educational activity and does not imply endorsement of any commercial products by CoxHealth or any proprietary entity producing health care goods or services.

Participants will receive statements of credit at the end of the program when all requirements for credit have been met. Satisfactory completion of objectives will occur through program attendance. Therefore contact hours will be given only for hours the participant attends. In order to receive a statement of credit, all participants must sign-in at the registration desk and turn in a completed evaluation form at the end of the program.

Cancellations received in writing to by September 1, 2016 will be entitled to a full refund. After this time, a $25 processing fee will be withheld. No refunds will be made the day of the conference. No shows will be charged the full conference fee.

In the event Education Center cancels or reschedules a course, participants are entitled to a full refund or the participant may transfer registration to the next scheduled activity. All refunds must be received in writing via email. CoxHealth is not responsible for travel, hotel, booking fees, or other cancellation fees for registrants when an activity is cancelled.
