Cox College awards over $243,000 in scholarships from the CoxHealth Foundation and the CoxHealth Auxiliary.

This is made possible by our loyal supporters—thank you for your contributions! Scholarships are available as funds are available and awards will not exceed funds available for the academic year. We accept general scholarship applications between April 1 and July 1.

What is the CoxHealth Foundation?

The CoxHealth Foundation was established in 1998 to carry on the tradition and philosophy, begun in 1906, by generating current and endowed support for CoxHealth, it’s hospital and affiliates including Cox College.

Who makes the scholarships possible?

These scholarships are awarded to exceptional high school, transfer, and returning students who wish to pursue their degree program at Cox College. Submission of the General Scholarship application is required. CGPAs are automatically checked at the end of each semester. These scholarships are funded by the following benefactors:

Scholarship Criteria

Awards are based on the following criteria:

  • Cumulative GPA (current and transfer credit hours)
  • Financial need (must complete a FAFSA and turned in all verification paperwork, if applicable; visit www.studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa for more information)
  • One-page essay
  • Professional references

The scholarship application, one-page essay, and one professional reference are due at the time of submission. Failure to complete the scholarship application will result in withdraw from the pool of applicants. Scholarship monies will only be applied to tuition and fees after the add-drop period.

Cox Health Auxiliary Scholarship

This program provides matriculated nursing students with full-tuition financial aid at Cox College. Candy striper or hospital volunteer service will be given priority for consideration but participation is not necessary.

The scholarship application, one-page essay, and one professional reference are due at the time of submission. Failure to complete the scholarship application will result in withdraw from the pool of applicants. Scholarship monies will only be applied to tuition and fees after the add-drop period.

CoxHealth employee 20% tuition discount

Take advantage of this great opportunity! All full-time and part-time CoxHealth employees are eligible to apply for a 20% tuition discount when applying for one of our undergraduate programs!

Requirements

To receive the discount, you must complete the Employee Discount Request Form and meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a current full-time or part-time employee of CoxHealth or one of its affiliates. Affiliates include CoxHealth, Oxford Health, and Texas County Memorial Hospital.
  2. Payment arrangements must be in place prior to the start of the semester/term in which you are enrolled:
  • Payment of tuition and fees in full to Cox College. Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, money order, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover.
  • Enrollment in the Cox College automatic payment plan (through Nelnet Business Solutions) for the full amount of tuition and fees for the semester/term. This option offers a monthly payment option with up to five payments available.
  • Financial Aid arrangements. Enrollment in the Cox College automatic payment plan may be required until financial aid is pending to the students’ account. (Some out of pocket expenses may occur until financial aid is obtained.)

Important Information

Please note the following information about your tuition discount.

  1. This discount applies to tuition only.
  2. Student- and course-associated fees and books do not qualify for the discount.
  3. Each semester, qualified students must submit the Employee Discount Request form to the Cox College Bursar prior to semester start date and verification of adequate payment arrangements must take place before the discount will be applied.
  4. If payment or payment arrangements are insufficient prior to semester/term start, the student waives their right to the discount.
  5. Employment will be verified through CoxHealth Human Resources. Human Resources will verify employment status once the semester/term begins.
  6. Cox College employees (i.e. work-study students) are not eligible to receive the discount.
