About Our ASMA Program:
Medical assistants stand at the forefront of a patient’s healthcare experience. In this role, you will work in a clinical setting, checking in patients and performing important duties such as taking vitals and handling administrative tasks. Our Medical Assisting program will help you develop effective communication skills, critical thinking, and technical expertise. As a graduate of Cox College, you will have the knowledge and abilities you need to stand out and succeed.
Small class sizes allow our students to learn in personable and intimate settings. Every aspect of your program experience, except for practicum, can be completed virtually! Graduates of our program have the excellent opportunity to bridge to our nursing, MRI, or ultrasound programs.

Our medical assistant students come from a wide range of backgrounds. That’s why we offer three enrollment tracks to fit your preferences. Click here to download MA Checklist.
Starting from scratch?
Associate degree – Chart your course in medicine with a two-year associate degree completed with just 60 credit hours. Administrative and clinical labs give students hands-on practice and experience.
Just need a few more credits?
Completion Track – This is the right path for credentialed medical assistants who are needing those last credits to complete their associate degree. Total credit hours: 27 (Most of which may be taken online.)
Core courses only
Get the knowledge and experience you need to take the RMA exam with just 33 credit hours! Students choosing this track can launch their career and get out into the field in record time!
