The Medical Assisting program and department at Cox College is designed to provide students a quality educational environment that promotes professionalism, effective communication, critical thinking and specific skill sets within the chosen areas of study. The Medical Assisting profession encourages students to become active learners through a variety of learning experiences.  The programs provide classroom instruction and practicum experiences that adequately prepare students for their specific professional disciplines.

Blended and online courses in the program gives the students a solid understanding of the knowledge and skills to be a successful medical assistant. Administrative and Clinical labs as well as the practicum will also give the students hands-on practice and experience to the career of medical assisting. The America Medical Technologist (AMT) has accepted the accreditation of Cox College and has qualified graduating students of the Medical Assisting Program to take the RMA certification examination. The Medical Assisting program at Cox College is designed to meet the needs of all prospective students, including those already working in the field.
