Looking for a specialization?
Whether you’re already registered in a primary imaging technique (like radiography) or have an associate’s degree and crave primary certification, this is your path. Apply to our BSDI program and choose your specialization in DMS, ECH, MRI, NUC, or Healthcare Leadership. After completing specialty courses and clinical requirements, you’ll be eligible to apply to the appropriate ARRT and/or ARDMS national registry(s).
Just need a few more credits?
This path is ideal for technologists already registered in a primary (like radiography) and specialty imaging technique. Round out your degree with a select group of general education and core curriculum courses.

Sonography programs (General/Vascular and Echo)
Cox College’s Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Imaging Sonography program and Certificate in Echocardiography program qualifies students to sit for American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification exams. ARDMS is the minimum requirement to practice sonography in most states. Some states may have additional licensing requirements, provided here.
Licensing requirements vary by state/territory and relocating could impact whether you will meet eligibility requirements for licensure. Employers, state licensing agencies, and federal regulators all consider an ARDMS credential to be verification that the graduate met rigorous professional standards. Currently, the state of Missouri does not have additional licensing requirements.
If questions remain after reviewing the information provided, contact your program chair. While Cox College can provide initial guidance, it is ultimately the responsibility of the applicant to continually verify with state/territory where you intend to seek licensure to confirm all licensing/certification requirements.
Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Imaging (CT, MRI, NUC)
Cox College’s Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Imaging CT, MRI, and NUC credentialing pathway programs qualifies students to sit for American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) primary and post-primary certification examinations. ARRT is the minimum requirement to practice as a registered technologist in CT, MRI, and NUC in most states. Some states may have additional licensing requirements, provided here.
